What is active carbon
Activated carbon, often referred to as activated charcoal, is a highly porous form of carbon. It is created by heating carbonaceous materials, such as wood, peat, coconut shells, or sawdust, at high temperatures, that is, activation and carbonization. Due to its large specific surface area and developed pore structure, it is widely used for sewage treatment, gas purification, solvent recovery, gold extraction, food decolorization and so on.
